Rent a Trade (“we,” “us,” the “Platform”) is a technology marketplace that connects users (“Customers” or “homeowners”) with independent service providers (“Contractors,” “Pros,” or “specialists”) for trade and service work. Rent a Trade does not perform, supervise, or control any work completed by Contractors.

All Contractors listed on Rent a Trade are independent third-party service providers and are not employees, agents, or representatives of Rent a Trade. Each Contractor:

• Operates their own business.
• Is responsible for their own licenses, insurance, and qualifications.
• Is solely responsible for the services they provide.

Rent a Trade may display profile information, reviews, or verification badges. However:

• Not all Contractors are licensed or certified.
• Rent a Trade does not guarantee the accuracy of credentials.
• Customers are strongly encouraged to verify licenses, insurance, and qualifications independently before hiring.

Rent a Trade is not liable for:

• Work quality, damages, or incomplete jobs.
• Injuries, accidents, or property damage.
• Disputes between Customers and Contractors.
• Financial losses related to services booked through the Platform.

All agreements for work are strictly between the Customer and the Contractor.

By using this Platform, Customers agree to:

• Perform their own due diligence before hiring.
• Clearly communicate scope, pricing, and expectations.
• Enter into separate written agreements with Contractors when desired.

If payments are processed through Rent a Trade:

• Rent a Trade acts only as a payment facilitator.
• Service fees do not create responsibility for the work performed.
• Disputes regarding payment or services must be resolved between Customer and Contractor.

Customers acknowledge:

• Some Contractors may carry their own insurance, but this is not guaranteed.
• Hiring a Contractor through Rent a Trade is done at the Customer’s own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rent a Trade shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, property damage, or personal injury, arising out of or related to the use of the Platform or the work performed by any Contractor.

Users agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Rent a Trade, its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, or disputes arising from services performed by Contractors or interactions between Customers and Contractors.

Reviews must be honest and tied to real interactions. Incentivized, paid, or reciprocal reviews are prohibited. Content standards apply: no hate speech, no fraud, no unlawful content. Rent a Trade may remove content that violates these standards.

By using Rent a Trade, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. Substantive changes will require renewed acceptance from active users.
