Booked on Rent a Trade? We’ve got your back.

We hand-pick the pros in our launch market and we stand behind your experience. If a job you booked and paid for through Rent a Trade goes wrong and the pro won’t make it right, a founder will personally step in to help — mediate with the pro, line up another vetted pro to finish the work, or make it right another way.

What we promise

During our launch we personally back every job booked through the platform. If the work isn't right and the pro won't resolve it, we step in. Our goal is simple: you should never be left stuck because of a pro you found on Rent a Trade.

1 — Tell us within 7 days

Email us within 7 days of the job. Send photos, your messages with the pro, and what went wrong. The more you document, the faster we can help.

2 — We mediate

We reach out to the pro to understand both sides and push for a fair fix — a return visit, a correction, or a refund of the disputed amount, as appropriate.

3 — We make it right

If the pro still won't resolve it, we'll line up another vetted pro to complete or correct the work, or make it right another way. You're not on your own.

The honest fine print

  • This is a founder-backed goodwill commitment, not an insurance policy, bond, or warranty, and it is not a substitute for a pro’s own license or insurance.
  • Rent a Trade is a marketplace and is not a party to your agreement — the work contract is between you and the Contractor.
  • It applies to jobs booked and paid for through Rent a Trade in our active launch market, reported within 7 days. It doesn’t cover normal wear, changes you requested after the fact, or work done off-platform.
  • Always confirm a pro’s license and insurance directly and get a written estimate before work begins — see Trust & Safety.
