When you create an account, submit a specialist application, use the Rent a Trade website or mobile app, or contact us, we collect information you provide. This may include your name, email address, phone number, business and trade information, service area, profile details, portfolio links, credential information, customer and job details, and support requests.
The platform also stores content you choose to create or upload, including profile and job photos, portfolio images, community posts and comments, reviews, direct messages, estimates, invoices, booking details, and related records. Some profile, portfolio, review, and community content is public by design.
If you choose the nearby-search feature, the mobile app asks for foreground location permission and sends your current device coordinates to find specialists near you. Location access is optional, is used only when you request nearby results, and can be disabled in your device settings. You can search by a manually entered Florida city or ZIP code instead.
We collect account and device identifiers needed to operate the service, such as your account ID, authentication session, and push-notification token. We may also collect basic website and service diagnostics, such as pages viewed, referring source, device/browser information, and error or security logs. Rent a Trade does not use third-party advertising SDKs and does not use personal information for cross-app tracking.
We do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use service providers to operate the platform, including hosting, authentication, storage, notifications, communications, fraud prevention, and payment processing. They may process data only to provide those services or as required by law. Payment-card and bank details are entered on Stripe-hosted web pages and are not stored in the Rent a Trade mobile app.
Approved specialists’ public profiles, portfolio images, reviews, and public community content are visible to other users and visitors by design. Direct messages and non-public job records are limited to the relevant participants and authorized platform administrators.
With separate, optional consent, we send transactional lead and job notifications to trade specialists, job status updates and review requests to homeowners, and recruitment or application updates to candidates and applicants. Providing a mobile number does not opt you in. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out and HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using the platform or applying to join.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never sold. We record the time and origin of each SMS consent.
We retain account and marketplace information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to operate the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, accounting, and payment obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. Public content may remain visible until it is deleted or moderated, and backup copies may persist for a limited period after deletion.
You can update account information in the platform, control camera, photo-library, location, and notification permissions in your device settings, and delete your account from the mobile app under Settings. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at admin@rentatradefl.com. Some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate security, dispute, and transaction-integrity purposes.
Rent a Trade is a marketplace for homeowners and working trade professionals. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
